Victor writes: My research shows that the "Ruth Marshall' married to Preserved Brownell, son of Benjamin, was most probably Ruth Mosier (Mosher) Sherman (21 Jun 1789-aft 1860), d. of Thomas Sherman and Hope Blackamer Fuller of Rhode Island. The 1850 census report confirms that Preseved's wife, Ruth, was born in Rhode Island. They had a son, William Tripp Sherman Brownell (12 Mar 1816-20 Nov 1875) who married Charlotte E Kenerson (1834-3 Sep 1877), d. of Nathan G Kenerson and Betsey Ann Burch. Ruth's deceased brother was named William Tripp Sherman. Preserved and Rurh had a older son, Jonathon (1809-aft 1880) who married Phebe A (1816-aft1900).
