!SOURCE: Email from N. Combs to Weldon Whipple, 5 May 2010. Notes the following:- Annie Isabel Smith's record on the Rhode Island Cemetery Database (more information than the index) states: W/O ARTHUR W DENNIS;D/O SIMRI & SARAH F (WHIPPLE) SMITH. She was b. 7/11/1846 and d. August 07, 1918 in Providence, Providence, RI.
- On the 1860 census Simri and Sarah Smith have a 13-year-old daughter named Isabel (and no Sarah listed). Sarah/Isabel would not be 14 until after the official census date of June 1. The 1850 census is clear that it is Sarah A. J. Smith and not "I."
- "I'd be inclined towards the theory that Annie Isabel is Sarah A. J. Smith {107460}."

!SOURCE: Email from Patrick F. Harrison (email hidden) to the Whipple Website, 5 Mar 2012. He writes: "I recently acquired a copy of [John Rhodes Dennis's] application to the Rhode Island Society Sons of the American Revolution (attached) which gives his ancestry going back to Peter Rhodes and also link to Roger Williams. The record clearly says Annie Isabel (Smith)."
