    • !SOURCE: Email from Joanne Vetter (email hidden) to Weldon Whipple, 11 Aug 2020. She assert that Henry is the son of Ezra Whipple and his second wife Abigail Harwood.

      !DNA: Email from Dale Lutz (email hidden) to Weldon Whipple, 1 Feb 2016-5 Feb 2016. Dale reports that his maternal uncle--a patrilineal Whipple descendant of this Henry Whipple--had a Y chromosome DNA 67 test at FamilyTree DNA. The test showed his uncle as a member of the R1b haplogroup, showing fairly conclusively that Henry Whipple is a patrilineal descendant of Captain John Whipple of Rhode Island, rather than his previously identified father Ezra Whipple (RIN 3549) and his wife Abigail Harwood. Dale suggests that Henry might be the son of Luther Whipple (RIN 15532) and Eunice Gates. Luther is a patrilineal descendant of Captain John Whipple of Rhode Island.

      !RESIDENCES: Moved to Switzerland Co.(?), Indiana 1820. --D. Lutz. According to J. Lahr-Kreischer, Henry left New York and settled in Coles County, Illinois, which later became a part of Cumberland County, Illinois. He then relocated to Indiana, where the last six of his seven children were born. He returned to Cumberland Co., Illinois, where he died 19 Mar 1848, as did Eunice in 1868.

      !IDENTITY: One Of 3-5 Whipple brothers from Germany (or parents were) --D. Lutz Joanne Lahr-Kreischer, in email to the Whipple Web Site, 14 Nov 1997, says that Henry is actually the 5th child of Ezra and Abigail (Harwood) Whipple. Tim Paterson (email hidden) shows Henry's parents as Preserved and Olive (Ballou) Whipple. Preserved is RIN 10924.

      Henry was born in Rhode Island according to my great Aunt. She had letters from the "Rhode Island" side of the family. I know that many, many resources place Henry's birth in NY. But He was born in Rhode Island.
