Two of her children's vital records give Amey's maiden name as Whipple. All three children's death records give Whipple as their mother's surname. !SOURCE: Email from Beverly H. to Weldon Whipple, 3 Apr 2016. She writes: As far as Amey Whipple's ancestry I have not found enough clues to make a good guess. In all the census records for Amey, and the VR of her children, she was born in Vermont. In the settling of her husband's estate, a John Whipple is shown as a purchaser of part of John Mixer's personal property and also was owed money by the estate. That is the only Whipple connection I found. Her naming of her son Edwards Whipple could be attributed, as many children born around 1822 were, to the Rev Edwards Whipple of Worcester County who died 1822, the year in which Edwards was born. Its also possible that Amey was in one of the Whipple lines with an Edwards Whipple. !SOURCE: Email from Beverly H. to Weldon Whipple, 3 Apr 2016: Amey Mixer appears in the 1850 census and the 1855 State census in Webster,  Worcester, Ma. (The town of Webster separated from the town of Dudley around 1832). She was 50 in 1850 and 61 in 1855 so b abt 1799-1800 according to the census. In 1850, Amey has children, Charlotte E, age 34 no occupation, and Franklin L. a shoemaker both b Mass. In 1855, Frank is 22 and Charlotte 41, both still living with mother Amey. In 1860, Amey is 66 living with her son Franklin who is now 28?, a shoeworker, wife Lizza 25 b Mass, and his sister Charlotte 46 no occupation. !SOURCE: Email from Beverly H. to Weldon Whipple, 3 Apr 2016: John Mixer and wife Amey Whipple Mixer are buried, along with daughter Charlotte, in Webster Mass, Mt Zion Cemetery. The stone looks to me like a replacement or newer stone and has dates for John of 1794-1840 and Amey 1795-1863. Charlotte is on same stone so my guess would be it was placed around 1909 when she died. I don't think the dates are exact for the parents but cannot find the original cemetery records.
