!ADOPTION: "Adopted son." --C.H. McGuigan. In email addressed to Weldon Whipple, 17 Mar 1999, email hidden reports: "My older brother is now telling me that my Grandfather [Milton Palmer Whipple] was actually a foster child and a legal adoption may have never taken place. I would really like to find out the truth about this. I would like to know who my maternal great grandparents really were."I have heard that his mother was Elmira Sanborn (Mathews) Frost. Also that she was married to either Aaron or Burt Frost of Eastport, Maine. Elmira (who went by Mira) was known to my mother as Grandma Frost. I unfortunately was the youngest of my mother's 5 children and never knew her, and the others don't remember much except that my mother spoke of her. My Grandmother also spoke of her from time to time. I had been told as a young child that Robert Frost the poet was also related in some way to us (not sure about this."
