Notes - !CONFLICT: William Wyman Fiske (see below, p. 212) gives Mary Whipple's husband as Richard Jacobs, with the marriage taking place in Ipswich 15 Jan 1673, citing (in footnote 126) "Vital Records of Ipswich [supra note 118], 2:454." In the referenced note 118, the full title is given as "Vital Records of Ipswich, Massachusetts, to the End of the Year 1849," 3 vols. (Salem: Essex Institute, 1910-19). Blaine Whipple (see below, p. 2:G13), on the other hand, gives Mary's husband as John Emery, whom she married in Ipswich (no date given). The appearance of both spouses in the Whipple Genweb does not mean that Mary married both men.
