Gives name Jabez. !CENSUS: Email from David Lovett Jordan on 8 Dec 2002 reads: The 1850 census and the Schenectady County NY historical Records and Pavilion Library records, show Jabez Lovett in Pavilion, Genesee Co NY as Inn Keeper at the Page Hotel. The census spells his name wrong as "Jabish Lovitt" The census shows the following: Aaron Lovett age 13, Benjamin Lovett age 9, Cinthia, age 19, Cornelia age 17, Emerette (female) age 10/12, Jabish age 40, Mary E age 10 Nancy age 30. In the Brighton, Monroe Co, NY cemetery there is a grave for a wife of Jabesh Lovett and a son of Jabesh. The dates of death are ca 1845 and 1846. "Birth records of Dr Edwin A Young, W Glenville 1833-1845 show dau b to Jabish Lovett in 1841. This would perhaps be Mary E Lovett shown as age 10 in the 1850 Pavilion, NY census and dau of Jabish. Other children older than 11 would perhaps be children that Jabish had with Mary Norton of West Glenville. "Jabesh" Lovett buried a son and a wife in Brighton, NY in 1845 and 1846. This is almost for sure the same Jabish Lovett from W Glenville. In 1850, Jabish is married to Nancy, age 30, in Pavilion, NY. It appears that all his children were with him at that time. He writes: I have found Jabez Lovett in the Ohio 1860 Federal census in Newburgh Hts, Cuyahoga Co, Ohio, age 47. livery man, wife Nancy age 39, son Aaron age 21, son Benjamin age 17, dau Estella, age 11, dau Zade or Rade Sp? age 3. Civil war records show Aaron C Lovett and Benjamin F Lovett serving in the Ohio military. In the 1910 census Benjamin F Lovett is found in Ohio Census as mail carrier, RFD and wife, Eleanor. ... Aaron C and Benjamin F were grandsons of Benjamin Lovett (1783-1853).
