!SOURCE: Email from Charles Whipple (email hidden) to Weldon Whipple, 20 Sep 2008.In my latest book, [Captain John and Sarah Whipple....] on pages 84 and 88, I indicate that John Whipple III sold his father's homelot, which John Junior inherited from his father in 1663, to his uncle Col. Joseph Whipple 21 July 1705. Actually he sold (quitclaimed) the property to him on 8 Feb. 1708-9 (according to The Early Records of Providence on page 274.) The 1705 date was an apparent mortgage to Joseph. The records are confusing, but I believe this to be the accurate account.
