!SOURCE: Reprint of the "Brown genealogy of 1851," submitted to the Whipple Website by Ian Mackie, 20 Oct 2003. "In his will, made February 10, 1724, (codocil August 2, 1734), he entrusted to the care of his wife, Hannah, the 'Two small children Hannah and Prince'. His older children had long since been married. His granddaughter Martha Smith eighteen years of age, had married a month previous to his death. It is, therefore, believed that Hannah was a second wife, but of this no proof is known to exist, and no conjecture has been made as to the name of the first wife. Hannah survived her husband twenty-two years and in her will, proved September 29, 1757, gave her estate to 'son Prince and daughter Hannah', making no mention of the older children."
