Includes xerox copy of Smithfield, Rhode Island Deaths, p. 351, which contains two adjacent death entries for two Eleazer Whipples: "Whipple, Elezear, Jr., yeoman, departed this life 2 March 1732/3 (3:50-51)" and, on the line below, "Whipple, Elezear, yeoman, departed this life 17 Dec 1734 (3:45)."

Cites "Mayflower Families Through Five Generations", Volume Eighteen, Part 2, Richard Warren, page 65, which states that on 15 April 1735 Mary Whipple, widow, was appointed administratrix of the estate of Eleazer Whipple. The inventory of 31 Dec. 1734 says he died 17 Dec. 1734. Also cites Smithfield Town Council Record 1:45-46 (Eleazer Whipple's administration).

Vol. 11, p. 71: "Town Meeting 3 December 1702-Eleazer Whipple, junr, was chosen as a constable"; vol. 11, p. 171: "Town Meeting 27 October 1713 - Richard Harris asked for a free passage from the highway which now leads through the Louisquisett woods to go to and from his dwelling, through the lands of Eliezer Whipple junr, not to be an open highway, but to have a gate or bars, and to be only a passage for a Cart or horse or foot, and those that pass through at all times should shut the gates or bars so that Eliezer Whipple doesn't have any damage. The town appointed Capt. Samuel Wilkinson and Joseph Smith to view the place and to decide where it should lie and how it should be." Vol. 13, p. 40: "27 January 1723/4 o Town Meeting- Accepted as freemen: Elezer Whippel Junr is on the list."

restored by arranging them according to the numbers which prefix their names; and perhaps, by so doing, their dwelling places may be approximated; for, in my opinion, those who made out the list arranged the names according to their order upon the roads.' If we put the numbers in order, we have Eleazer, Eleazer Jr., Job, and James Whipple at numbers 15-17."
