Indicates that 12 Feb 1827 Welcome Congdon became a member of a manufacturing plant in Sutton, Massachuetts, with 1/8 ownership. (Earlier (p. 541) it states: "It was about the beginning of the year 1826 that a number of gentlemen from Providence, Rhode Island, on their way to Worcester and Boston, conceived the idea of utilizing this stream [north branch of the Mumford River, a tributary of the Blackstone, in/near the village of Manchang in Sutton] for the purpose of manufacturing. )
