"Connecticut Puritan (#48664356) says: It is uncertain as to where the Fishers were living in 1755 when John was born, even though he is shown in RI birth records. The Fishers did in fact live in Johnston, RI in Providence Co for several years, and can definitely be placed there by land records. Some of their children were born there. From 1754 to 1756, however, land records show that Barzillai Fisher owned land in Preston, New London Co, CT, but were they living there? The DAR Lineage Book shows the birthplace for John Fisher as Preston, CT, but their source is not identified."
