It was the first marriage for each. While the 1880 census shows Warren L. Whipple {7634} as head of a household that included his wife Frances L. and a daughter Jennie L. {72021}, later census records of 1900, 1910, and 1920 show Warren L. Whipple as head of household with wife Leona A. Of particular interest is the 1900 census which indicates that Warren and Leona have been married 22 years and that she is the mother of two children. In 1910 the census indicates 32 years of marriage. So, now that I've given you the facts, let me share my thoughts with you. On the 1880 census sharing the same dwelling as Warren L. Whipple is another family--Charles A. Haven 25 and his wife Leona A. 19. In 1860 Abial Haven, father of Leona A. Haven {7640} is 30 yrs. old and his family includes a son Charles Haven age 6. In 1870 Abial Haven's family includes a daughter Leona A. Haven age 10. My "intuition" tells me that in 1880 the census taker attached the wives to the wrong husbands. Therefore, Frances L. should "disappear" and Leona A. Haven {7640} be made Warren's only wife and mother of his two children. [Note: Weldon removed Frances L. per that note, on 27 Jul 2013.]
